May 12, 2014
A delegation from ELA formed by the general secretary, Adolfo Muñoz, the international secretary, Laura Gonzalez de Txabarri, and the coordinator of Navarre, Mitxel Lakuntza, visited last week the scottish union UNITE and at the same time they had a cordial meeting with Alex Salmond at the parliament building in Edinburgh.

In the visit to Scotland, the ELA delegation met the leaders from UNITE Scotland and the Scottish Trades Union Congress (STUC). The visit was highly appreciated by ELA.

During the meeting with Alex Salmond, the ELA delegation and Alex Salmond shared their point of view about the sovereignist process. The Scottish first minister was convinced that the “yes” will win the referendum on Scottish independence. The leader of the SNP said that the independence option has gained ground as the referendum campaign advanced.

Adolfo Muñoz, Txiki, setressed the democratic nature of the process: in Scotland anybody calls into question that the scottish people have the right to decide their future.
