As an act of revenge, the Spanish Government has imprisoned the ‘Govern Catalan’

The Spanish Government is using the judiciary to continue seeking its revenge against the legitimate representatives of the Catalan people, converting them into political prisoners by prosecuting them for their political activities. This is an unacceptable disgrace that shows the deterioration of Spanish “democracy”.

ELA demands the release of all those arrested and is asking the European institutions to stop qualifying what is happening in Catalonia as “an internal problem”, since we are faced with an anti-democratic, repressive action against the representatives elected by the majority of the citizens of Catalonia.

ELA encourages Basque society as a whole to take part in the demonstration to be held next Saturday in Bilbao, along with the concentration on Sunday in Iruña.
